is it truly over for the youth?

Unemployment

I'm 18 from Canada. I graduated high school in 2025 and l've been actively looking for any job for almost three years. Fast food, clothing stores, warehouses, literally anything. Most places either aren't actually hiring, or they post openings and just never respond.

When there are openings, I've seen lines so long they wrap outside the mall.

This is humiliating for me to admit, but it's gotten so bad that I've genuinely considered adult entertainment jobs... and I can't even find those either

I have a solid resume with real experience from a previous seasonal job. I'm good with people, good at speaking, good socially, but I never even make it to the interview stage where I could showcase that.

I'd go straight to college, but I need money first. For tuition, and for housing.

All of my friends are dealing with the exact same thing.

None of us can get hired.

Is Canada just completely cooked for youth? Is there something we're missing? Any advice or insight would honestly be appreciated greatly.
