People. Let's back up.
Let me start by saying that I plan to stay further away from online discussions about Jeffrey Epstein and whatever crime(s) he committed, and speculation about who did what with whom. Some about the topic brings out the worst in people.
I was just about to clean-out my inbox, and saw that my post about doubting the cannibalism claims had caused someone to write: "Doubt-sewing bot."
First, I hope doubts about stories involving killing and cooking, and serving babies don't need to be "sewn." Those doubts should sprout up naturally in the absence of exposure to any of those activities in their entire lives.
Second, does anybody even make a "doubt-sewing bot?" I doubt it. Does that mean the bot must be working correctly?
Now, I just want to clarify I said — or rather, didn't say.
- I never said statutory rape wasn't a crime, or that people who commit that crime shouldn't be held accountable.
- I never said everybody who had a picture taken with Epstein was innocent. Some might be guilty as sin. Let's have trials*.*
- I never said cannibalism never happens.
- I never said infanticide never happens.
- I never said the young woman who appears in one of the videos, who was genuinely distraught, didn't deserve to be heard. She did, and I hope her claims were investigated thoroughly, but never substantiated.
I did say:
If you're going to announce that cannibalism has become widespread among the upper echelons of society, bring evidence. (I felt the same way when Donald Trump said people entering the U.S. illegally at the southern border were eating cats and dogs.)
Also, it takes a "special" kind of person to get involved in infanticide or cannibalism. Chances are, somebody would have noticed before now that those people were experiencing serious mental health issues.
The people photographed near Jeffrey Epstein, who might have been looking for sex, most likely didn't care whether the attractive young women they saw were at least 18. They wanted people with fully developed, toned adult bodies. They didn't care young women had reached emotional or psychological maturity. Whether someone was16 or 26, they were interested, as long as she appeared to be an attractive woman.
There are some very different people out there, who seek out children who clearly have not reached adolescence. Just because Epstein wasn't one of them, does that excuse his behavior? Of course not!
The woman who had been worrying about her 2-year-old son because of whatever Jeffrey Epstein facilitated on his yacht/mansion/private island had no reason to be afraid of Epstein. In a way, I felt bad because she thought it was snarky to point that out. I wasn't trying to hurt her feelings by mentioning that Epstein was involved in a different kind of crime, and her baby was safe from him.
I would like to see crimes involving rich people handled the same way crimes involving the rest of us are handled.
When someone says,"I was a crime victim." hear that person out. When someone says, "I'm innocent," hear that person out, too. Let juries look at facts.
Let judges reach verdicts.
Let people who are guilty be punished and people who are not guilty be left alone to live their lives in peace.
Speaking of peace, I need it in my life, so you probably won't hear from me again.
Take care & stay safe.
