Egypt Mobile Phone Tax Rule Update...

I see that recently the government updated the rules and removed the ability for foreign travelers to bring in one tax-except device into Egypt (for longterm use). Does anyone know if the rule that devices activated abroad before January 2025 will still be exempt from the tax? For example, will older Pixel 8 phones activated out of egypt in 2024 be useful in Egypt beyond the 90 day grace period?
