On that rosette is painted a Fish, which waves its hand at all the scholars who are trying to decipher the text of the manuscript. In the Middle Ages, the fish was a symbol of the scribe. As is also drawn in many medieval manuscripts and books. In the text of that folio it is written that it is: Golden Fish. So the author of the manuscript introduced himself to you with that picture.
