What is the likelihood that a guy lied about reason for divorce?

So a guy I dated mentioned that his wife was the one who filed for divorce several years ago. The reason was because ‘she decided that marriage was not for her’. According to him, there was no cheating on either end.

Due to the vague reason given, I suspect that he was hiding a lot of details. How likely is it that he was lying about the reason for his divorce? Also, how often do guys lie about the reason for their divorce?
