What is the most stomach turning thing in medicine for you?

🏥 Clinical

I know people outside of medicine likes to think see bones sticking out are gnarly. Something that stinks are definitely not pleasant. But anything who find neonatal congenital issue way more upsetting?

It’s very hard for me to look at stillborn or newborn congenital issue, from neural tube defect to cyclop, etc, basically a lot of neonate condition that are not compatible with life. Like they’d make me sick and scared at the same time. For me these condition trumps any rotten flesh or smell in medicine. And of course I’d feel bad about that since I’m supposed to be compassionate. I’m just wondering if anyone feels the same way, or if there are other pathologies that just really upset you in a visceral way?
