used phone and google account

long story short i bought a used LG phone from a pawn shop to play music where i work

they told me they were obligated to tell me that the phone had been sim locked

but the wifi worked

ok.

i created a new google account on my pc at home.

when i want to login on my phone to download youtube app on the play store, at the "add a phone number?" screen, nothing works. Not yes i agree, skip, more options. none of the buttons work and i'm stuck there.

I think the pawn shop knew this would happen and didn't tell me

google searches say that yes it's possible to skip it

i would add my own number on my other phone but i can't even get past this screen.

anyone know of this problem and how to solve it?
