Built a Real-Time Interview Extension. Now I’m Debating a “Mock Interview AI” Product. Would You Use It?

I built a Brower extension around a simple flow: record a question and get a structured answer.

But after shipping it, I started thinking about a new direction that might be more useful long-term:

A dedicated app that simulates a real interviewer:

• asks questions by role/level

• listens to your answer

• pushes back with follow-ups

• scores structure/clarity and highlights gaps

• suggests what to study next (topics, system design areas, patterns)

And one more idea: instead of a chat UI, it would be an AI interviewer avatar (a “virtual interviewer”) with a face, voice, and basic expressions, so it feels like a real conversation and not just typing into a box.

Two modes I’m considering:

  1. Preparation mode: coaching + feedback + expanding topics

  2. Mock interview mode: timed, realistic loop that feels like a real interview

I’m trying to validate if this is worth building.

Would you actually use an AI interviewer like this regularly, or is it something people try once and forget?
