A busted laptop gave me the excuse to build a new desktop again! This time wanted to go with something a little more understated in a slightly smaller form factor.

Was a bit of a squeeze to get everything to fit - some lessons learned from this build are that the the CPU cooler does have a correct orientation - the Thermalright text should be on the right side of the heat pipes as shown in the image to give enough clearance for the GPU.

Additionally, for this specific GPU the motherboard needed the white LED shield on the far left covering the I/O ports removed otherwise the GPU backplate could not be installed. The LED didn't matter to me as much so I had no issues leaving it unplugged.

The power supply that I chose did not have the power outlet in a good orientation for the internal power cable to plug into. This caused a sharp bend against the side of the case that I wasn't fond of, so I bought an extension cable with the connector in the right orientation to avoid any sharp bends in the power cable.

Otherwise, everything fit inside and the cables are neatly managed and tied down in the back. I was initially concerned about thermals using air cooling only in such a tight case, but under typical gaming loads with Helldivers 2, Oblivion Remastered, and 7 Days to Die everything keeps cool at around 50-55 C. OCCT CPU stress testing maxed out the CPU temps at \~84C with the full boost clock sustained over the 1 hour test (5.2 Ghz). Most fans are cool air intakes. The only exhaust fan is the top-most right one. This configuration seems to be keeping everything cool with very low fan noise.
