What does believing in god feel like to you?

To begin with, I am an Atheist who was raised Catholic. I went to a catholic school for 12 years, went to church twice a week for a majority of that, had religion class, the works. But I don’t remember feeling like I actually believed in god. I remember it being like a known fact, of “yea god exists” but the rationale for that was quite literally “cuz everyone says so”.

I didn’t understand praying, probably because of how it was framed to me, so I didn’t really talk to god ever. I tried to, but unlike the Bible and every movie would have me believe, you’re not actually supposed to hear god. I was like 7 so I was confused why everyone could do this prayer thing and I couldn’t. Tried to ask about it, did not receive very helpful answers 💀.

So anyway lol, safe to say I don’t think I ever got it even when I technically believed. So what does it feel like for you? Do you have a physical sensation that you believe to be god? Do you actually hear something? Is just a mental thing, you believe it to be true even if you can’t conceptualize it? (Like for example, I understand that the Sun has a diameter of 865,000 miles even though I absolutely cannot conceptualize that, but it’s a fact).

I absolutely do not mean this in bad faith, I’m not gonna be judgy, I just legitimately wanna know your personal experience. I’m interested and it’s not easy to ask these kinds of questions to people irl lol. Thanks for your time
