Who is an actor or an actress that you feel doesn't get enough respect by the audience despite them having great acting chops in your opinion?

A very subjective question indeed admittedly, but it's something that I am genuinely curious about regarding how other people view their favourite actors, being bullish on them for years, probably not getting the respect they deserve?

For me personally, I'd say Julia Garner. She seems to be overlooked, underrated, and sometimes even (unfairly) gets hate for her performances especially in recent years. Now I know I'll be biased in saying this, but I personally think she's phenomenal in almost everything I've seen her in. From Electrick Children to Weapons, from an innocent child having an immaculate conception, to a very relatable messy home wrecking teacher, she dissappears into every role I've seen her. I even enjoyed her in Wolf Man which is admittedly not her finest work and she has had better work than that. But overall she had a fantastic year in 2025, I loved her as The Silver Surfer in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and I ESPECIALLY loved her as Justine Gandy in Weapons, loved how relatable her teacher character was, a kind, over-involved teacher who is also a needy, home-wrecking, alcoholic with a history of stalking who becomes a town pariah, was a CHALLENGING role to pull off. And I think Garner embraced those layers.

However, I was actually surprised to see her get vitriolic comments about her, ranging from her looks, to "how she rubs people up the wrong way yet they can't describe why?" Everytime I see anything regarding her on social media, whether it was her birthday recently, or even just a topic related to her, she seems to get more vitriolic criticisms thrown her way compared to her contemporary counterparts within her age range, which I feel is sometimes unearned, and I honestly thought that she was a pretty popular actress among the masses, turns out that might not be the case at all, at least from my experience. But hey that might just be a me problem and I might be shouting into thin air for nothing, I might just be on the wrong end of the social media timeline whenever I see her name pop up ir mentioned, even here on Reddit, again it might just be a me thing.

Anyway enough waffling/yapping from me. Who is an actor/actress that you feel is disrespected, in YOUR opinion (or atleast doesn't get enough respect as they should) for their performances, but actually have great acting chops that say otherwise?
