Seeking advice
10–11 y/o Husky has had two seizures today — can’t reach ER vet, need guidance. I have plans to get her into the her vet on Monday.
I’m looking for honest guidance about my older dog.
I have a 10–11-year-old spayed female Husky. Within the last 6 months she’s had vet visits for recurring bladder infections that have caused incontinence. She is currently not on any medications.
Today she had two seizures
• First seizure around 0730— she lost bladder control during it
• Second seizure around 1505 — afterward she was very foamy/drooly and panting heavily
After both seizures she seemed disoriented for a short time, but her energy level has otherwise been close to normal. She has been somewhat restless and has had multiple accidents in the house today.
I know she’s an older dog and I’m trying to prepare myself realistically. I’m worried this could indicate something serious, such as a neurological issue or infection. If euthanasia becomes necessary, I would prefer to arrange an in-home option so she can be comfortable. I love her very much and want to make informed, humane decisions. I feel like I need to hear a veterinarian clearly say when it is time before making that call, and I don’t want to rush that decision unnecessarily.
Thank you for any advice.
