For retro gaming, 60GB fat ps3 or fat PS2 and ps3 slim?

Hi everyone!
I want to get into ps2 and ps1 gaming.
I had a ps3 slim so I have a few ps3 games but I lost it.
To play all my ps3 games and the ps1/ps2 games I want to buy, is it better to go for the 60gb fat ps3 who is retro compatible, or a fat ps2 and a ps3 slim?
I heard that the fat ps3 would cost a lot to repair if any problem would appear, compared to the others.
What is your experience with them?
What would you recommend?
