Employer harassment + fired me without notice and doesn't want to give me any termination pay.

Yes, I will be consulting with a lawyer but it's the weekend now so just want an idea what the process will be like thanks. Recommendations for employment lawyers appreciated too.

Background:

Employed more than 2 years continuously on contract. Employer flipped out over a minor thing and made a big scene. I returned to work and was fired a few days later. I don't have any previous record of misconduct or writeups against me. Employer gave me a termination letter that is boiler plate and doesn't say anything about firing with cause. He is refusing to give me any termination pay.

I believe the incident was workplace harassment because the employer was very verbally abusive and made a scene in front of everyone over a very small thing.

Questions:

  • Is this workplace harassment?
  • If so, would it be reprisal if I got fired for it? I called out my employer for being abusive during the incident.
  • What is the process like to go after my employer for ESA statutory 2 weeks termination pay? Will the lawyer represent me in small claims?

I know I can report to ministry of labour but what is process after that if they do deem this workplace harassment? Just want to get an idea about the process and if I am missing anything thanks!
