Bird Watching

I used to listen to Metallica every day. I was a hard core heavy metal fanatic. I wore holes in my And Justice For All shirt. I watched Headbanger’s Ball on MTV. It hit me hard when Cliff Burton died in a bus crash. I thought Riki Rachtman was an awesome host. I also LOVED 120 minutes.

Fast forward………a few years. Now I watch birds. Often. Daily. Thirty years ago, I would barely even notice that a bird landed on a branch. Now, I stop everything I’m doing just so I can try to figure out what kind of bird I saw.

What the hell happened to me?!?!?? is anyone else in the same situation I am? I’m questioning my hard-core Headbanger roots, yet I love seeing a Bluejay, a redheaded woodpecker, or a Cardinal. This aging thing kinda sucks. Ugh.
