SOLVED

Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹

I'm excited to share the first stable release of PDF-Ninja - a completely offline, privacy-focused PDF utility for Linux that I've been working on.

πŸ”₯ What is PDF-Ninja?

PDF-Ninja is a standalone desktop app for Linux that handles all your PDF needs completely offline - no internet required, no data leaving your machine, ever.

✨ Key Features

  • PDF Merge – Combine multiple PDFs with drag & drop support
  • PDF Split – Extract specific page ranges into separate documents
  • PDF Compression – Reduce file sizes with 3 quality presets
  • 100% Offline – Complete privacy guaranteed, zero telemetry
  • Standalone Builds – Bundles all dependencies including Ghostscript
  • Modern UI – Clean CustomTkinter interface
  • Multiple Formats – Available as .deb, .AppImage, and standalone binary

πŸ“¦ Installation

Debian/Ubuntu/Mint:

sudo dpkg -i pdf-ninja_0.0.1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

Universal (AppImage):

chmod +x PDF-Ninja-0.0.1-x86_64.AppImage
./PDF-Ninja-0.0.1-x86_64.AppImage

Standalone Binary:

chmod +x pdf-ninja-0.0.1-x86_64
./pdf-ninja-0.0.1-x86_64

🎯 Why I Built This

I wanted a PDF tool that:

  • Respects privacy (no cloud uploads, no tracking)
  • Works completely offline
  • Doesn't require installing a dozen dependencies
  • Has a clean, modern interface
  • Just worksβ„’

πŸš€ Roadmap

  • v0.1.0 – Password protection for PDFs
  • v0.2.0 – PDF rotation and page reordering
  • v0.3.0 – Batch processing mode
