600 Strikes with a perfectly mundane Odysseus works just fine

I've seen a few different interpretations of the fight between Odysseus and Poseidon, one even giving him Zeus' might to face down the god of the seas, but I don't think this is necessary.

Odysseus is a great fighter and a fantastic sailor, he is one of the peaks of the original troy armies, somewhere beneath Achilles, and Achilles wrestled a damn river.

Odysseus is ALSO the grandson of a god, he has divine blood in his veins, even if it doesn't really enhance his physical abilities.

But, let's put the Heroic Supernatural stuff aside and consider Odysseus v Poseidon

Poseidon is not a smart man. He's about on par with Zeus, and Zeus is also not the sharpest spear in the legion. Odysseus has already outsmarted Poseidon before by using the bag of winds as a tool, and this is of course what he does again in 600 Strikes.

All he'd really need to do, and all I think he does, is knock Poseidon the fuck out with a direct impact, either surfing his raft using the bag as a propelant, or just firing himself like a ballistic missile into the guy's chest. The gods are physical beings, and Poseidon was likely presenting as his humanish form to tell Odysseus to kill himself.

So I don't think Odysseus needs any special qualifications to bash full speed into Poseidon, and bash him against a rock. Then, while he's laying down and gloating, pick up his dropped trident and go to town.

Odysseus doesn't need to go full Kratos and have a full fight with the god of the sea, 600 strikes packed into one punch, maybe a headbutt, who knows.
