Advice
Hi all,
I’ve been in the industry about a month and my company is giving me a massive headache. Can someone give me a little insight on what is normal and if I should quit/ask for a transfer?
I have a two hour commute one way to work in a company car, and clock in right when I get to my job site. I was told day one that the team does not take lunches although I could if I “really need to/want to”. A rule was also changed about two weeks ago that if you are not state certified after three tries you are terminated from the company. You must take the first certification attempt within 3-4 weeks of hire and overtime is not approved unless you are certified. You also have to take modules every week and balancing that with taking the exams is getting hard and I am doing it on my off time (weekends, during lunches, I had a tooth extraction and I did studying then lol)
In addition, I was called at 5:00 pm on my drive home in rush hour to ask about “product merchandise” charges made to my gas card which is physically impossible to do and the total charges were under 10 dollars. My uniform has not arrived, I am wearing my own clothes and shoes to work, and not a single member on my team wears PPE but gloves unless “I feel I need to, but remember that the rest of the team doesn’t.” We are spraying apprehend, temperid, nyguard and more on a daily basis with no masks in small apartments and behind appliances, baseboards, bed frames.
For reference, I am 30F and have a small, athletic build. It has been insinuated multiple times that I may be too weak for the team or for this kind of industry. Please let me know your thoughts! I can handle them. Do I gtfo?
