Cat feeding help

Not sure if this is the right sub for this sort of thing, so apologies if it isn't.

I have an indoor cat who has got to be overweight. I know I need to cut down her food intake but after research I'm getting mixed messages about how much we should be feeding her.

Her ideal weight is around 3.5kg (7.7lb) and she currently weighs about 4.3kg (9.5lb). Her activity levels vary from day to day but I try to keep her moving as much as possible. She generally has 2 big play sessions a day where she gets some good running about in and a few smaller ones scattered throughout the day.

We are feeding her a pouch of Felix as good as it looks wet food (roughly 64 calories) 3 times a day so we're looking at 192 calories.

I can't seem to pin down a figure for what she should be eating.

I don't want to continue contributing to her weight gain but, at the same time, I don't want to starve her. Obviously it's hard to tell if she's just whining for more food because fat or if she's genuinely starving.

Happy to answer any questions and, again, sorry if this is not the right sub.
