I named my inner critic after my mother and it helps tremendously

Need a Hug

And also my other bullies, especially my evil, straight psychopathic and sadist grandma. I was the scapegoat of both.

Whenever toxic shame hits me, I say to them: "Shut up, that's not true. You're lying."

As simple as it sounds... It f*cking helps. Like seriously, a LOT.

It helps much actually that I started feeling like an imposter. Like I was lying to myself telling that "inner" critic that it's lying. Because how can I accuse someone of lying, 'only' because it makes me feel bad about myself?

But I refuse to continue thinking that I am the problem!! That there's something inherently wrong with me. Shut up, mother and grandmother! And all the bullies in middle school. SHUT TF UP

(I wanted flair this as Resource/Technique initially, but it's also a Rant, and I also need a hug (after struggling to allow myself expressing this need), so...)
