Freedom Mobile sales rep lied about phone cost - now stuck paying $480 extra over 24 months. What are my options?
In early January I went to a Freedom Mobile store to help my friend buy a phone. After that, the sales rep asked about my plan and offered me a phone. He told me my bill would stay at $39/month (what I was already paying). Now I'm being charged $59/month - that's $20 more per month, or $480 over the 24-month contract.
Today I spent 90 minutes on chat support. They offered me $5/month credit for 6 months, then escalated to a supervisor who offered $10/month for 6 months. Both kept telling me to go back to the store. I asked for a complaint number and mentioned CCTS, and they escalated me to their executive office who will call in 2-3 days and got the case number as well from them.
I also filed a CCTS complaint.
I'm past the 15-day return period (been about a month).
Questions:
- Has anyone dealt with Freedom's executive office? Do they actually resolve things?
- Anyone have experience with CCTS complaints? How long does it take?
- Should I bother going to the store or is that a waste of time?
I wasn't expecting to be misled like this. Really disappointed that sales reps are apparently allowed to lie to hit their targets.
