The machines have been ordered to cause mass destruction across the city. There are a large variety of different units, some are cannon fodder and only a threat in large numbers, others are able to level entire city blocks on their own, but the strongest are the least common. The Baron himself is not present, but is watching everything unfold through a massive drone swarm, he sees all corners of the battle. If he needs to, he can coordinate his forces on the spot and form new strategies. Even without this, the machines are ab to identify priority targets, if they deem someone a threat they will instantly engage, and signal nearby allies to do the same. The invading forces will only retreat if either they complete their mission, bringing complete destruction to New Springs and killing the majority of its citizens, or if enough of their army is destroyed that the Baron deems the battle a loss and orders them to flee.

Your OC will be in the city, completely unaware of the incoming invasion. Contritely, the Baron will be unaware that they are there either and will not plan to counter them going in.

You may choose to treat this as either only your OC being there or they are there at the same time as other people’s OCs. If you want there to be other OCs there please clarify, otherwise I’ll just assume it’s only them.

BONUS:
To make this a little bit more fun, you can reply to other people’s responses and make your OCs work together if you want.

Your OC (must be city block level or lower) is exploring the city of New Springs, until out of nowhere the city is invaded by an army of the Baron’s robots. What do they do?
