Recent diagnosis, biopsy done

Hello, everyone.

2 weeks ago I got the call that I was HPV16 positive and a week later they sent me in for a colposcopy and they performed a biopsy. I had not gotten a pap in a very long time due to sexual trauma, probably over 7 years since my last one (I am 30 now).

During the biopsy I had a very bad panic attack and started crying uncontrollably and was very upset. When it was finished, the doctor said to me that I am most likely going to need the next procedure where they will laser off the cells and she wants me to consider being put under for it because of how I reacted and how upset I was, and she wants me to mentally prepare.

My question is - why would she say that to me? I am absolutely freaking out. I would assume she couldn’t make that call without the results unless she was absolutely sure because she saw something that alarmed her.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of symptoms I’ve read about that makes me feel like I am going to get very bad news. Pelvic pain, random leg pain I’ve dealt with in the last year that was persistent and so bad to a point that I went to emerg and no one could figure other was causing it, they said it could be sciatica. Every symptom I have read about, I have. I am trying to stay positive and tell myself there are many other reasons I could be experiencing those symptoms as well but I am finding it so difficult to not spiral.

I am so incredibly scared something is very wrong and that I have found it too late.

I know that I can’t do anything until I get my results in 4 weeks but I wanted to ask if anyone could share any insight or words of encouragement or anything. I am so terrified. I’ve been crying nonstop and I am in physical pain. I have such a horrible feeling I can’t shake. Anything encouraging, any advice or insight from people who know more than me is appreciated. I feel so alone. Thank you. ❤️
