Restarting but overbooted

Skating Advice

So, I am starting again after injury and Ménière’s disease, medication has finally worked but ive been off ice for a bit over a year I think, I’m not good at remembering. I only have rf1 elites, they’re broken in and I had them fitted to my feet at the time (fitted early 2024, “quit” in nov 2024) they were really enjoyable when I was doing the jumps and spins I was doing… since duh I needed them but now I think it’ll be a decent amount of time before I can get back to my competition level.

My query is should I wear rentals till I’m back in the swing of things OR just wear some boot covers while I skate so I don’t get picked at but risk snagging?

I’m going to try get edea balance blades to fit but I might not get them to since I’ve never had edea blades, if anyone knows let me know, I’m keen on trying the edea blades because of my Ménière’s I feel like it may just help till I get used to ice and the constant crushing vertigo. If they don’t fit oh well. Im just so excited to be on ice again, im only really getting into it because I want to push through my conditions and to spite my circumstances etc, any support is appreciated, esp if anyone else skates with Ménière’s
