Footwear issues

Hi, I'm an EMT in the Boston area and have a hyper specific question that I don't know if anyone else has asked. For reference I've been an EMT for 2 years and work a busy 911 system so I'm not just asking for any recommendation.

I've worn Timberland Pro's and 5.11's for the last 2 years and I just don't really like the way they feel. I've gotten into the whole barefoot shoe concept (not toe shoes that's weird) but shoes designed to let your feet move naturally. Are there any good boots that have similar designs. I like the width of the Timbs, the feel on the ankle and grip of the 5.11. Anyone else have this issue?
