Meeting with Ex
Hi all. Nice to meet you and hope it’s going good. I (20M) and my ex (20F) recently broke up about 2 weeks ago after 2.5 years of dating (most of it was long distance).
She broke up with me and there’s a range of things but I think the main one was she saw it turning unhealthy and she wanted some space to figure some stuff out (she was also dealing with a lot of stuff irl and a lot of pressure from family college etc). Also she said that her heart wasn’t in it anymore but after breaking up she did want to get back together which confused me even more. To be honest, her message was very mixed and confusing but in her own words, she told me that “I didn’t do anything wrong.” We agreed to go No Contact (about 4 weeks total) till I come and visit to get my stuff. I agreed because I wanted some time to think and I could use the meeting to get some clarity and closure. (Before anyone says anything as in, there’s another person, my ex and I never had any trust issues in terms of cheating or anything like that. I still believe she is that way so please don’t consider that, she’s not the type)
I’m ngl, I kind of did resent her for it at the start of no contact. But after really thinking I did realize there were a lot of things that changed from when we first started dating to recent. I was not the perfect bf and I really wish I noticed these beforehand.
Back to the meeting, we are meeting in a couple weeks and I’m not really sure how to act. I do want to tell her the problems I noticed (with me and overall), just to get it off my chest and I want to let it all out. My main question is how do I approach this and in the meantime, how do I just deal with this? I feel like it’s been incredibly strong and it just hurts. I wish I can just call her and say everything but I want to respect the space.
I’m really sorry if this isn’t very clear and if it’s kind of a rant. It’s been hard. If you have any questions please ask and I would be happy to answer
