Starting in the middle of the month?

Hello!

I am here with what I am assuming is a very basic question, and I'm sorry.. I did try to search but couldn't find an exact answer. I am starting from scratch with LiquidBudget, coming from previously using just a Google Sheet. I am not well-versed in similar programs at all.

I have put in all of my monthly expected/recurring expenses (e.g. mortgage), as well as buckets for discretionary spending (e.g. dining out), and linked my existing accounts.

What I am wondering is, since I am starting in the middle of the month, how do I reflect things I have already spent against different buckets? I know I can add a transaction manually, but where I am stuck is that it "pulls from" my checking/credit card/etc. I'm looking to lower the amount in my budgetary buckets but what I've already spent, but keep my checking/CC balances as is, because the transactions are already reflected in the current balance. What am I missing here? Do I just have to add transactions and then re-adjust the checking account back up? Or am I better starting on March 1?

Thanks so much! :)
