Relocating for family life near Antwerp - looking for detached house in the Antwerp-Ghent area

My partner and I are expecting our first child and are planning to move out of Antwerp city to a larger detached house. This is particularly important for us because, due to a health condition, I need to largely avoid stairs, so a ground-oriented, standalone home in a suburban setting would be the best fit.

My partner is Swiss and works in Antwerp city, while I’m British and work near Ghent. Ideally, we’re looking for areas along the Antwerp–Ghent corridor that offer good commuting options to both cities while still providing a quieter, family-friendly residential environment. We’re also looking around Puurs or in the A-12 like Aartselaar.

We’d really appreciate any local insights on towns or neighborhoods that could match these needs.
