Question about fat + tattoos

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I haven’t really found anything. I have a lower back tattoo — and I am a bit pudgy, and my tattoo looks squished when I stand. If I lost weight, would my tattoo still remain the same or would it tighten up? Im 5’10, 20 and 192 for reference.
