Am radio

So is anybody gotten their AM radio to pull in stations any better? Mine seems to have a lot of electrical noise. So far my research has led me to want to buy a new am antenna that's about 3 ft long and splice it into my antenna cable with a y Connector. Does anybody care about Am cuz I do!
