Will they need sharpening?

I just found a pair of ice skates that have been missing for about six years. They’re "old", and I’m not sure how much use they’ve had before they went missing. Before I try them out, I’m wondering: do ice skates need sharpening after being stored for this long, even if they weren’t used? Any advice on checking the blades or getting them ready for the ice would be awesome.
