TIFU by reaching out to someone that I knew on a sex app

M

So I’m 18, and recently I have been wanting to get into the great world of sex. Woohoo. So anyways, I get on this app and it lets you search by location, and so I do, thinking “let me see if anyone who is near my location is looking for something”. Well, the first person that came up looked exactly like someone that I had seen last night at a club. Let’s call them E, who, importantly, is 22. Now E had some naked photos on there, which made me go “oh”. I then, foolishly, reached out to them under an unrelated username, saying “don’t be alarmed but I know you”. That wasn’t the whole message, but let me just break in here to answer your question. Yes, that is a creepy thing to say. I don’t think sometimes. Anyways, I continue by saying “I won’t tell you who I am because I don’t want to expose myself but if you want to talk that’s cool” and I hit send. About an hour later, I get an email from that person saying: “we should have a talk” they basically mentioned another incident that I had apologized for the night before in where I had accidentally swiped up on them on a hookup app(I swear it was accidental) as well as having been reached out to someone that they thought was me. In my head, I went “oh shit”. Instead of lying, I admitted, embarrassingly, saying “yes that was me on the app” and some more stuff along those lines. They emailed me back and established some boundaries, notably that our age gap and our dynamic(them being a mentor for freshman and a leader in clubs I’m in and me being a freshman and a mentee) meant that nothing would ever happen. I completely understood this. I assured them that I would never look at their profile again, as to them, someone they know seeing their naked body(that they admitted they did actively post) was a bit embarrassing to them, and so they would not have to worry about this anymore. I apologized profusely, and they have yet to respond again, though my email does not necessarily warrant a response. Now, I have to see them in multiple clubs I’m in, which, at first, will be horrendously awkward for both of us, for them having their naked body seen by someone they know and me having basically proposed sex to them.

TL;DR: I asked someone way older than me to have sex anonymously, they found out, and now it’s awkward.
