Ikran attacking for no reason?

as the title says, a group of ikrans attacked me and my ikran whilst in the air. I was trying to get vineshrooms on the boundless range and all of a sudden I see red dots and ikrans coming for me. They attacked me, throwing me off my ikran and I took a lot of damage. I didn’t do anything for them to attack me, as I read they will attack if provoked. I had to kill them because they would not stop attacking me and were following me around… even when I was so far from where they initially started to attack me. I got disharmony for protecting myself, no warning, straight debuff. (Like the first ikran I killed, instant disharmony.. which I know disharmony gives you warnings before the initial debuff?) Which is so weird because I rarely ever get disharmony.

Is this a bug or did I genuinely do something wrong? (I know killing them was wrong but I could not get them off me any other way.. couldn’t fast travel, not even getting off my ikran would have them stop coming after me 😭😭)
