School hours

I'm an 8th grade student in Portugal and when I moved here (from Israel) I was so overwhelmed by the school hours. Wednesdays and Fridays are from 8:45 to 13:30 so get short but, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are from 8:45 to 17:30!

So I wake up when it's dark and come home when it's dark it's most of the time. I used to have a lot of free time before I moved and now it feels like I don't have time for anything during the week, because I have to study so much more.

I also compared my recess time to some other countries and Portugal comes at the bottom...

How long is your school day? Let me put myself into perspective.
