Holmes County Woman Sentenced Despite Clear Evidence of Innocence in Arrest Linked to Pass
Riley Flinner was a standout student, head of her class, and active in the Drug-Free Club of America. She got pulled over for slightly crossing a center line with a passenger who had drugs. Despite testing completely clean - no drugs in her system, on her clothes, or in her possession - she was pressured into a plea deal and is now serving 4-6 years at Ohio Reformatory for Women. The passenger tested positive for meth and got 5 years. Riley, who had zero criminal history and passed every test, somehow got nearly the same sentence. The traffic stop had no dash cam or body cam footage, and she was detained for over an hour while officers debated "what to do with her." I started a petition asking for a review of her case and sentencing. A future medical professional with a spotless record shouldn't be serving hard time based on someone else's drugs.
