Is Sallie Mae loans worth it?
For context: I’m 23 currently taking a break from community college (it’s not been two years) because i ran into financial issues. I accomplished two years but failed one class and also have a balance owed ($5200, my transcripts are now on hold) so my next step is to finish the final class i need to finish and pay off the balance since my transcripts are on hold.
I’ve been looking into Sallie Mae loans to pay off the balance and register for the one and only class I need.
Would this be worth it? I just desperately wanna get on with my life, I feel like my life has been put on pause and i hate it.
And question #2: When I complete those two steps, would it be worth it to take more loans out for the last two years when I transfer elsewhere? I so desperately wanna try a new place and leave my small hometown as there is nothing going for me here. Would it be a bad idea to take out loans for out of state?
I’m doing this on my own so I apologize for the thousands of questions, i just wanna make sure Im not jumping into anything stupid. I also don’t have anyone to guide me. But yeah, I really yearn for a new start somewhere else and my mindset right now is like “i don’t take out loans and be unhappy with my environment here, or take the loans out and be happy elsewhere and deal with the rest later.
Thank you to anyone who responds. I really appreciate it.
