Allergy 🥜 vs. Sri Lanka/Asia
Hi everyone!
So I've done multiple trips alone by myself, but all inside of Europe. I'm turning 30 this year and I told myself last year that this year I'm gonna go to Central America or Asia. I usually take vacation around september, oktober, november or december.
I've always wanted to go to Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia, which is great around that time of year? Central America not so much. BUT I am deathly allergic to peanuts and also react to almond. I think I'm fine with hazelnut. Coconut is unclear. I am not sure about other nuts because I'm not gonna do a test for each kind, I just avoid them in general.
Going online everyone says they're all an absolute no go, including Thailand & India. Recently Sri Lanka also caught my eye. Is Sri Lanka better in terms of but allergies or just less visited so less spoken about?
I know nuts and peanuts are in all their kitchens, and HACCP us not a thing on the streets, but I'm still looking if it's reasonable in general and in which countries there's less of a risk. I'm used to staying in hostels but if the risk there would also be higher I'd try Airbnb and cook myself, but that would limit the social aspect... I'm also gonna bring the translated cards etc.
Anyone that can tell me if it's do-able in Sri Lanka? (or the other countries).
Thank you!
