Staffing Agency - percentages - their take

When working with a "Staffing Agency" ( for example, Manpower, Rose International, Apex, etc.), is it acceptable to ask, "What percentage of the money the company is paying are you taking?" Another way of putting it would be, "What percentage am I getting?"

Also, Is there any requirement, by law, that they answer?
