Why is suddenly literrary every country complaining about housing costs?

I see posts basically everyday about Canada, my own country, even US people who have still very cheap housing saying its going way up.

When does it even stop since in my country especially, the costs are rising way faster than salaries. Do you think remote work can solve this global trend because people will disperse and thus relieving the tension on particular areas?
