The guy I’ve been casually dating turned out to be wildly wealthy and now I feel weird about it.

I (31F) been going on dates with this guy (39M) I met on a dating app for about a month. Super low key, simple clothes, coffee dates, taco spots, never flashy. I assumed he was just a normal corporate guy. Last night he invited me over and I expected an apartment.

It was a massive gated house in one of the nicest neighborhoods in our city. Floor to ceiling windows, real art, sculptures, a grand piano. Then I saw the garage. Turns out he founded and sold a tech company and still has equity in another. He said it casually, like it was nothing.

He hasn’t acted differently at all. Still eats appetizers, still sends dumb memes. But I felt weirdly small walking in with a $12 bottle of wine when he has a climate-controlled wine room. I grew up middle class, I rent, I budget.

Now I’m overthinking everything. How do I keep calm on dates? Why didn’t he tell me sooner? I liked him when I thought he was just a regular guy grinding. Now I’m scared the money dynamic is going to mess with my head even though he hasn’t done anything wrong.
