Move from Directs to Indirects experience?

I am moving internally from Direct procurement over to the Indirects (services) side and am really nervous for the learning curves/differences. My previous role was very administrative and involved (Packaging), but I loved the long term supplier relationships and supporting our manufacturing plants. This new role seems like it will be a lot more transactional and contract/negotiation heavy. For those of you that have made a similar move, what was your experience?
