Anyone tried Radically Open DBT?
My therapist suggested it, but I'm kind of on the fence about it. I read part of the workbook a while back and was turned off by the thought managing parts because I don't really need that. I could probably use the social skills part, but part of me feels like the whole 'retrain your nervous system in a social context' is just trying to cover up/excuse away 'learn to mask better'. There's also the part where I don't mask consciously because 1) I hate the idea of changing how I naturally behave to influence how others perceive me and 2) I already lose 50% of my IQ during conversations with people because I spend so much of my mental energy trying to focus on what people are saying never mind micro-managing my body at the same time.
Also I was reading some posts and someone was saying the facilitators just read off a manual and aren't allowed to deviate? That seems super red flaggy to me.
