1st year AuD, struggling with cohort; advice?
Honestly all I want is to hear that my cohort is not completely dysfunctional and that there are others having issues with their cohorts/ have had issues with their cohorts in the past. I love my program and professors so so much and I like (for the most part) everyone in my cohort but there is just so much drama amongst the people that I WAS hanging out with. They are just nasty and passive aggressive to me and others like a group of middle school bullies. It’s exhausting especially because I am trying to separate myself and make friends with the rest of my cohort but it’s like they see that and swarm me so I can’t get out and so that I’ll just end up feeling isolated. I’m really disappointed in how these first two semesters are going socially, especially because it is already a rigorous program and we should be there to lift each other up and not tear each other down. Has anyone else dealt with this/ have any advice? I wasn’t expecting people to be this way in a doctoral program :(
