50% Friends and Family Discount Rules

hello! apologies if this is a dumb question that has already been answered.

I would like to give a friend my friends and family discount but i can’t tell if the Feb 13th deadline is for them to claim it or for them to redeem it.

that is, we want to go skiing in march, but aren’t sure which weekend will work for her schedule. if she claims the discount before feb 13th but doesn’t redeem it until March 1 when she gets her work schedule, is it still worth 50%? that seems a little OP, but the fine print uses the term “claim” but then “purchase“ so I’m confused.
