Discourse around the NFL vs NBA is flirting vs harassment
Raiders benching key players to lose to the Giants at the end of the season? Awesome! They are set for the future with the first overall pick! (First Things First did a segment ranking the teams with the most successful seasons and the Raiders were in the top 10)
Meanwhile, several high profile people in national sports media are currently talking about how tanking is ruining the NBA (Dan Patrick, was on getup this morning)
Cavs Warriors make the finals 4 straight years = BORING. NO PARITY
One of Brady/Mahomes appears in like 14 consecutive AFC title games = GOATs. Witnessing greatness!
Quarterbacks over the past 20 years or so breaking records = So entertaining! QB play has never been better!
High scoring NBA games now = They don't play defense, guys don't care anymore.
The defending champ in the NBA hasn't made it outta the second round in like the past 7 seasons. We've also had 7 different champs in that span. = No storylines worth watching in the NBA
Seahawks win the Super Bowl despite having maybe two players the casual fan had heard of/Sam Darnold turning around his career = Wow what a story! Can you believe how much better Darnold has gotten?
Giannis trade rumors, Harden getting traded, the Luka fiasco last season = The NBA is a soap opera! None of the big stories are about on the court stuff
Meanwhile, the biggest stories in the NFL this season were about the 4th string QB of a 5-12 team and the Micah Parsons trade yet the masses ate it up.
TLDR: NFL has alot of the same problems the NBA has: No true rivalries, lack of a super duper team, teams tanking, yet everyone ignores it with the NFL
