Abandoned cars in driveways / front yards, what's the reason or intention?
I'm just curious about cars that I see in driveways or front yards that are obviously unroadworthy and would need a lot of work to fix. I went for a walk yesterday and saw 3 - a 1980s (possibly 90s) Range Rover where the tires are completely flat and almost melted into the ground; an old Subaru covered in bird poo and leaves, cobwebs, paint peeling. A BMW in a similar condition with a wheel missing.
I don't understand why people keep them - there are companies that will remove them for scrap (I think some will do it for free).
Is it sentimental? Car was owned by a loved one and they can't part with it? Is it a project that they intend to start, or never finished?
Does anyone have one of these, and if so, what's the reason for keeping it?
