struggling more than everyone else?
I was diagnosed with ASD in October (I was already diagnosed with ADHD) and despite my Level 1 diagnosis I feel like I struggle so much more than other neurodivergent people around me (even those with AuDHD).
People constantly tell me I’m over exaggerating or that my life can’t be that difficult and no matter how much I try to explain that I have a disability that literally impacts every aspect of my life, everyone thinks I’m really dramatic. Is this normal?
I have one friend with ASD who goes out clubbing a lot but I have to wear earplugs and be extremely drunk to enjoy going clubbing.
My friends all go out after uni but I literally just come back to my flat and sit in my room all night because I’m so exhausted.
I wish I didn’t struggle with sensory issues and emotional dysregulation as much as I do and I wish people actually realised how hard it can be for me sometimes.
Is it normal to feel like this or am I just dramatising my symptoms? 😪
