Putting aside how utterly stupid it is that one alien crying could affect all dilithium on a galactic scale. Putting aside how one planet exploding somehow made the rest of an interstellar empire explode with it.

Burnham left a human-made WMD inside the Klingons' home planet, instead of removing and destroying or at least disarming it. She then gave the detonator to that WMD to a Klingon politician so that they could use it to secure power via a deadly ultimatum. That's not just violating the Prime Directive, that's tossing it in a fire. She deserved a court-martial and penal colony service for the rest of her life, but instead she got promoted to Captain. Disgusting. Disgraceful.

The Burn made all dilithium inert for a very short time, causing mass warp core breaches all over the galaxy. But why? Dilithium can go inert on its own. Other bad things can happen. Warp cores are supposed to have safety mechanisms and failsafes in the event of malfunction. At least Federation ones do, we know that from TNG. Did 30th-century engineers stop building warp cores that way? What, did safety measures go out of style? Did they not have enough budget for that? Does Future OSHA in Space not exist? We all know the answer: stupid writing made by hacks.
