weird experience day 5 post Egg Retrieval
Made a previous post about how great I’ve been feeling lol had my retrieval on friday five days ago. figures I jinxed myself.
So - I’ve been feeling totally good for the entire past five days since the ER; minimal symptoms, really none. Then all of a sudden this morning day 5, i got woken up at 6am by the most insane severe waves of cramps in my life. Called the nurse line, they said take tylenol and wait. Then about 10 mins after that, I had this crazy scary episode in which I became overcome with nausea, chest tightness and shortness of breath/ hyper ventilating (I do not get panic attacks or any anxiety like this never in all 38 years of my life), I started shaking , profusely sweating, lost my vision and almost passed out. I had to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital bc I live alone and couldn’t get a ride at 6am and I panicked when I LITERALLY couldn’t breathe in the moment : I was gasping for air trying to give EMS my address. and also, I’m not someone that has ever called 911 or been to the ER in my whole life before this.
So the ER doctor connected with my fertility team which was nice - they did a bunch of blood work and ultra sound. Of course I started feeling better once I got there- mild cramps, nausea, but nothing else in terms of the severe symptoms I had at 6am. So then got the results back. The crazy thing is they said not much came back in the results other than a UTI. But when I read the Mychart result myself the description said something about fluid and “possible OHSS”, but then when the doctor from the fertility called to go over results she said she doesn’t think I have OHSS; but yet one of the nurses on the phone in a separate call thought it was.
So I’m confused.
Luckily I’m going to the fertility clinic first thing in the morning for a follow up and I will ask for more clarity at that point.
Hoping they’ll give me a work note for tmrw bc I’m rlly not feeling great and spent my day off today in the ER?
Has anyone had something like this happen to them? and if so what was it? Regardless of what it was, I know I obviously just need to rest and drink fluids. Have to figure out about work tmrw.
Thank you all.
