Is it worth to pay Kubecon Amsterdam tickets from my pocket?

Hi everyone! My company isn’t covering KubeCon expenses, so I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth spending about €1,200 of my own money (ticket, hostel, and flights). For those who’ve been, would you personally pay out of pocket to attend?

I’d be going solo. I’m pretty social, so I expect to meet cool people and attend some great technical talks. I’ve been to many tech conferences before, but this would be by far the most expensive one, which is why I'm unsure.

So tell me, would you pay it yourself?
